How do I transplant my mini rose plant?
Question by C: How do I transplant my mini rose plant?
I got a mini rose plant rooted in floral foam and I’m thinking about transplanting it into a bigger pot with soil? Do I just take the plant out of the current pot, foam and all, and just stick it in the dirt and cover it up?
If I try to remove the foam will it give the rose plant shock? I may tear the roots if i try to take the foam out so is it necessary?

It’s to keep the plant from drying out in the transport from the grower to the store. Don’t worry about it.

That will depend on the variety you choose to plant. Some get very large, some stay small. Go to your local nursery and see what they have and they can advise you.

Why are leaves on my rose plant are growing deformed?
Question by shuvo915: Why are leaves on my rose plant are growing deformed?
I grow a rose plant (not sure which variety) in a pot. The leaves on the plant are growing deformed. Some get twisted, some are quite small compared to the neighboring leaves, some have marks, Couple of leaves even grow attached to each other. The leaves were fine when i bought the plant. But after the rainy season they started growing like this. I put fertilizer a week ago. Does it have pests or disease?

Are the leaves on my rose plant supposed to be red?
Question by Cheyenne48: Are the leaves on my rose plant supposed to be red?
I purchased 2 Everblooming Hybrid Tea Rose plants: one is a First Prize pink bloom and the other a Oklahoma red bloom. The leaves are bright green on the First Prize, but are red on the Oklahoma. Are the red leaves a sign of an unhealthy plant? or is it normal?
Also, is it a bad idea to grow these plants in containers?

Some rose leaves do go red. The containers are okay for now, but when the plant starts to fade, I would definitely plant it in the ground.
