Help! Beanstalk sized rose canes…
Hi! I am renting a lovely property in Northern California with rose bushes that bloomed like crazy last year, however they are in awful shape. Each of them has canes that reach over 6 feet high, without much new growth on the bottom. They (the flowers at least) looked great last year and I clipped and clipped and had new blossoms constantly, but I am wondering now should I prune these all down considerably? Many of the canes are green still near the bottom, a lot of brown ones are there too, but not the fat ones. I’m just nervous to take so much off not knowing a thing about roses until I started clipping the buds off these last year =) I think this is the way to go, but I was hoping for some reassurance. Thanks!

Silver Rose
Where can I find silver roses? Do you have a picture?
Late Rose Pruning in Northern California
In Northern CA, can I prune roses at the end of February or early March if they are already putting out new green leaves in some quantity? We’ve had a lot of rain and some really mild weather, and they’ve sprouted before I could make time to prune. Thanks for any help you can offer.
Laura rose bush
We planted a rose bush called Laura 30 years ago when our daughter was born. Unfortunately the plant has died and we wondered if this rose was still available to buy.

climbing rose bush does not bloom
we planted our climbing rose bush on the west side with plenty of sun. it’s pruned well, beautiful and green and climbs but does not bloom. I don’t want to get rid of it, my daughter give it to me for mothers day 3 years ago but it has never produced roses.
Rose suckers running rampant
I have a couple of rose bushes in which the grafted plant died and suckers have taken over. Will these suckers ever bloom? Would it be best to remove the plant? If I do dig it out, how long should I wait to replant in the same location (hole)?
Roses not blooming
This past Spring, all 5 of my rose bushes bloomed beautifully – big, full roses. After the blooms faded, I cut them just above a 5-leaf part of the stem. Since then (about 2 months, now) only 2 bushes have bloomed – small, paltry blooms. I noticed that on one of the bushes, the 5-leaf piece is down to 1 or 2 leaves. I’m wondering what happened to the other leaves? And, more importantly is there anything I can do to get them blooming again? A couple of them do not get a lot of sun (but why did they bloom so well in the Spring?).We started a rose service last month (they fertilize/spray). Thank you for any help you can give me!
The rabbits ate the petals off my rose cutting
I have a Chrysler Imperial 6 inch cutting that I transplanted in the spring. The root system was nicely developed and new growth had emerged. The plant was doing quite well until the rabbits ate all the new growth. Since then it’s been very hot and the remaining 5 original leaves have dropped. What can I do to bring the plant back to a healthy state in the heat of the summer?
