    After the last frost. If you plant before then, be prepared to cover them if you get a frost advisory as they are delicate and will not take a hard frost.

    If the roses are purchased bare root & are dormant…
    they can be planted in the late winter to early-mid spring.

    Potted roses that are grown in a greenhouse may need to be “hardened” before being planted if this wasn’t done already. This is done by setting the plants out on warm days & bring them in during cold periods, so they can become acclimated to being outdoors. They can be planted after all danger of frost.

    if you are upstate then your late frost date on average is may. are your roses growing now. if they are you cant take them outside untill all the other trees and roses and bushes start blooming as well.

    if they are currently “STICKS” then plant them outside now
